TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Taiwan Open has been pushed back to November from September because of the SARS epidemic.

The golf tournament's organizers said Wednesday that severe acute respiratory syndrome affected the Asian PGA's schedule enough to move the tournament to Nov. 20-23.

The island recorded 84 SARS deaths and more than 600 infections earlier this year, third in the world after China and Hong Kong.

The World Health Organization said last month that SARS had been contained.
