FOXBORO, Mass. -- Six people were injured Friday afternoon when a bus crashed as it was shuttling spectators between Gillette Stadium and a PGA golf tournament.
The bus was hit by a parking lot gate that was blown shut by the wind, a Foxboro police spokeswoman said.
The gate hit the bus in an area where passengers were sitting, state trooper David Parsons said.
Three people were seriously injured and were taken by helicopter to Boston Medical Center. The other three were taken to area hospitals.
Authorities did not release the victims' identities pending notification of their families. Their condition was not immediately available.
About 15 spectators were being ferried from Gillette Stadium in Foxboro to the TPC of Boston golf course in Norton, where the Deutsche Bank Championship is being played.
