Defending champion Arsenal beat rival Manchester United 2-0 Saturday to reach the FA Cup quarterfinals.

Brazil's Edu gave Arsenal a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute, when his free kick deflected off David Beckham, changed direction and went past goalie Fabien Barthez.

Edu set up the second goal, too, passing to France's Sylvain Wiltord, whose 16-yard shot went in.

In other fifth-round FA Cup action, first-division Watford upset Premier League club Sunderland 1-0, Sheffield United defeated Walsall 2-0, and Southampton topped Norwich City 2-0.
