CARTAGENA, Spain -- Gavin Glinton had two goals and an assist as the MLS champion Los Angeles Galaxy defeated Lyn Oslo F.C. of Norway's First Division 5-0 Tuesday in a La Manga Cup 2003 game.

Chris Albright, Alexi Lalas and Sasha Victorine also scored, and Simon Elliott had three assists for the Galaxy in their first game of the year. Kevin Hartman got the shutout.

The game marked the Galaxy debuts of South Korean national team defender Hong Myung Bo and forward Alex Pineda Chacon, the MLS' MVP two years ago. Both played the first half.

Los Angeles played without Carlos Ruiz, last year's MVP who is continuing his commitment to Guatemala's national team. Ruiz is expected to join the team March 2 for MLS Spring Training in Florida, a team spokesman said.

The Galaxy are scheduled to resume tournament play Friday against Russia's Torpedo Moscow.
