Under-17 U.S. team loses 2-0 to Spain

HELSINKI, Finland -- Spain handed the United States its first loss at the Under 17 World Soccer Championships, 2-0 on Wednesday.

The United States (2-1) had already clinched a quarterfinal berth and will play favored Brazil on Sunday.

Brazil (2-0-1) beat Yemen 3-0 on Wednesday.

Spain (2-0-1) will play Portugal on Sunday in the quarterfinals.

Portugal led Cameroon 5-0 early in the second half Wednesday. Cameroon got goals in the 88th and 90th minutes to complete the comeback and tied the game 5-5.

In Wednesday's other game, South Korea beat Sierra Leone 3-2.

In the other quarterfinals on Saturday, Colombia will meet Costa Rica and Argentina will play Mexico.
