Chris Brown scored three goals as the New England Revolution snapped a nine-game winless streak on Saturday with a 5-1 victory over the visiting Chicago Fire at Foxoboro, Mass.
Brown had just two goals in 18 matches with Kansas City before being traded to New England on Aug. 20. He scored in the seventh, 63rd and 66th minutes on Saturday.
The Revolution (6-8-8) were 0-5-4 in their previous nine matches since beating Colorado on June 28.
Andy Williams scored his second goal of the season in the 14th minute to tie it for Chicago. The Fire (11-5-6) had a seven-match unbeaten streak snapped.
Rapids 2, Earthquakes 1
At San Jose, Calif., John Spencer had a goal and an assist to lead visiting Colorado.
Colorado, which improved to 9-9-4, snapped San Jose's six-game unbeaten streak. The Earthquakes fell to 11-4-7.
The Rapids took the lead in the 67th minute, when former Earthquake Chris Carrieri passed to Spencer, who beat San Jose goalkeeper Pat Onstad inside the far left corner of the net.
After a give-and-go with Spencer, Colorado's Mark Chung opened the scoring in the 21st minute on one of only two shots by the Rapids in the first half.
San Jose's Brian Mullan slid a shot under Colorado goalkeeper Scott Garlick in the 59th minute to tie the game at 1-1.
Galaxy 2, Burn 1
Reserve Alejandro Moreno scored the tiebreaking goal in the 90th minute as host Los Angeles rallied for a victory over Dallas at Carson, Calif.
Carlos Ruiz tied the score for the Galaxy (7-7-8) on a penalty kick in the 50th minute, but missed another in the 81st minute.
Brad Davis opened the scoring in the 12th minute for Dallas (4-14-4) following a quick restart off an indirect free kick.
