SECAUCUS, N.J. -- MetroStars forward Jaime Moreno was recovering Wednesday from surgery on two herniated disks in his back,

The operation was performed Tuesday in Fairfax, Va., by Dr. Tuchar Patel.

Moreno will be on injured reserve for the rest of the season.

He had two goals in 11 games, the last coming against D.C. United on July 5. The goal moved the Bolivian past Raul Diaz Arce into fourth position in MLS history.

The 29-year-old Moreno, acquired last December from D.C. United, has 71 career goals and 52 assists.
